My greatest art Critic - Lakshmi

Lakshmi-my greatest critic of my art! After finding me as her owner, Lakshmi grew up from puppy to doggie now of 10 yrs. with me in my studios and my galleries. She knows my paints, starting with coloring herself blue, the first time she entered the studio, then white and sometimes pink. Since these adventures always ended with extensive baths, she finally decided enough was enough! Within time, after trying out some of my best brushes, Lakshmi turned to art critic. She made a habit of watching my strokes I made on the canvases, sometimes giving me a grave look of dissatisfaction, esp. when my canvases became dark. I noticed the paintings she loves the most are in red and blue. When I painted her portraits, she admired herself. So as the years go on, she has become an established art critic, sitting in the middle of my classes, checking out my students works and enjoying her presence in my studio. I couldn't have imagined her but with me in the studio and in my life. She is still chasing after balls and running after squirrels, now in Maryland = our new home and studio.

Annapolis. MD. A very great City with a big Heart for Culture by Christina Jarmolinski

I experienced a wonderful day in the colorful and historic city of Annapolis, MD. "The State House gives Annapolis its signature skyline." Annapolis lays on the Chesapeake Bay. The streets are some cobblestones with an array of different shops, galleries and unique eateries. It is sophisticated in a casual sense. I connected with a few galleries here. I certainly only scratched the surface- will need to visit the wonderful city more often.

A Day Trip through Maryland on Delmarva by Christina Jarmolinski

Deal Island is one of the last Bay type water and land mosaics on the East Coast left unblemished and untouched by the sprawl of modernism. Deal Island, Maryland - 6 mile long, 3 mile wide neck of small town living surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay and tributaries in Somerset County of Maryland's eastern shore. http://www.dealislandmaryland.com/ Yesterday Rob de Koter www.dekoter.nl and I drove through the tiny Island of Maryland's Delmarva Peninsula. We were at awe over the peace and serenity found in this tiny Island. Rob doing photo shooting and I just doing my photos for my blog readers. We are truly happy to live on this peninsula surrounded by nature and at the moment blossoming roads and pastures. Truly God's gift in this very fast-paced life we all live. Next time I will show up with my canvas and paints....................

First Jaxon Oil Pastells Sketch out of my new Studio Window by Christina Jarmolinski

I have studied this view now for about 6 weeks. Seeing the changing of the season. So refreshing after living in Florida. Just wanted to show my friends a few new shots of my new studio. It has a carpet I'm not happy about, but that will have to be done later after selling a few paintings...................... Love living here. It is a very mild climate, although we have experience the nippy Noreaster as called here. I think my palette will definitely change again as with every new studio/living move.

Art Experience in Rehoboth

Our trip to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware on the Delmarva Peninsula was visiting it's many interesting galleries, besides the boardwalk on the beach. Our visit to Anita Peghini-Raeber's Gallery was delightful. Anita is a very prolific Swiss artist and gallery owner. Her nudes are large formats and expressive in hues of blues and whites. We talked about the art scene in Rehoboth Beach and the art scene in Switzerland and Germany. Comparing art of Florida with Rehoboth was also a topic. It was a fun-filled afternoon in the gallery discussing the essentials of art . Love her gallery and her works- a must see in Rehoboth. Another very well established gallery of modern, contemporary art is the Philip Morton Gallery I felt at home with the great, prolific art shown there. A Must See! Eric Davison the Director of the gallery was fun to talk with, discussing art in general and in Rehoboth. Interesting fact was that both galleries are located next to each other. That makes it a thrill for connoisseurs of good, contemporary art. Later in the day we visited the Art League of Rehoboth - a historical array of houses imbedded in a forest with a gallery large enough to make the visit a success. Workshops in many medias are also being offered on the premises It was a great day with impressions we enjoyed.
