Aung San Suu Kyi Receives US Congressional Gold Medal

This courageous, lady of dignity and conviction for the freedom of her people in Myanmar,  received the US Gold Medal. She had been placed under arrest in her home in Burma for over 15 years.

She fights for freedom and democracy in her former country of Myanmar, now Burma.

I painted the above Buddhist Monks of Myanmar upon hearing and reading of the violence taken place. The monks were being attacked as they were peacefully demonstrating for freedom.
