Christmas Village in Philadelphia 2014

Rob and I decided to take a day trip to Philadelphia to the German Christmas Market, reminiscent of the time we spent together in Germany, we expected a different scenario.

The market was crowded and the vendors offerings were from hand knit scarves and hats, just right for the chilly, windy weather, to glass lamps from Turkey, including voluptuous elderly ladies belly dancing. After some  consideration I decided not placing those photos in my blog- they were distasteful and had little to do with the Christmas Market- I saw many a disgusting face viewing this presentation.

At least there was a Free Tibet booth with beautiful handcrafted jewelry. Something you also see on the Christmas Markets in Germany.

Many of the merchants were good willing and presented their merchandise with care.

O well, I guess the management thought these would enhance their offer.

The Bratwurst were all sold out at  2 pm and the hot wein-Gluehwein- was not offered.

All - in - all the trip was fun. We did have a good laugh at the curiosities offered.

I will not visit that market again. Sorry for the negativity, but my conception of a beautiful Christmas Market is a different one.
