Grandmother and her grandson in the Art Deco Era.

I painted this from an old black and white photo. I incorporated the art deco details, such as the back and fore grounds and the clothing. Having seen many art deco paintings in Europe I know a warm red tone was often used to give the sign of nobility. It was an amazing challenge to paint this portrait with contemporary facial  elements on old images. This was a great learning process for me.
